“Too
often the process of building a new home is stressful and difficult for
the homeowner. After building
two homes in the Rehoboth area using Lockwood Design and Construction of
Milton, DE as my builder, I can honestly say that I have thoroughly
enjoyed the process.
In both constructions, the owners and staff of Lockwood Design and
Construction were great to work with.
They were very cooperative, understanding and willing to
accommodate the needs and wishes of the homeowner.
In pre-construction, the owners and staff worked closely with me in
developing and adjusting plans (with the inclusion of
thier in-house designer) and making decisions which needed to be
made before construction could begin.
Both homes were built without the involvement of an architect,
interior decorator and landscape architect.
The builder assisted me with decisions like house plan adjustments,
house placement on the lot and selection of vegetation that was to be
maintained during construction to be part of the final landscaping.
They also appeared to welcome my involvement.
In all cases, the staff and subs were excellent.
The quality of the work was outstanding and, in addition, they used
first quality materials throughout the process.
During all
stages of construction, I made decisions that meant adjustment in the
house plan and building detail. All
crews were very accommodating in the process and, if the decision were
done in a timely manner and using materials of equal quality, no charges
were added. If the change
resulted in increased cost, these were handled as change orders or
expenses above the allowances provided in the original contract.
Upon
competition of the construction, Lockwood Design and Construction does
excellent follow-up with the homeowner without a timetable.
In no case have I had a problem that they were not willing to
inspect and resolve if it is related to the original construction.
Home
construction has been an enjoyable and rewarding experience when working
with Lockwood Design and Construction.
I may do it again in the future and fully expect to use the same
builder.”
